Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is designed to restore healthy testosterone levels in men experiencing low testosterone, also known as Low T. This condition can cause fatigue, low energy, mood changes, decreased mental focus, weight gain, and reduced libido, all of which can affect daily life and overall well-being.
TRT works by supplementing the body’s natural testosterone, helping to improve energy, enhance mood, sharpen focus, and support better physical and sexual health.
At EveresT Men's Health, we provide medically supervised TRT tailored to your unique needs. Our expert providers monitor your progress closely with regular hormone testing and follow-up visits, ensuring safe and effective treatment that delivers lasting results.
Understanding Testosterone Replacement Therapy
Testosterone replacement therapy is a clinically supervised treatment designed to restore testosterone levels in men diagnosed with male hypogonadism, a condition where the body fails to produce sufficient testosterone.
The testosterone hormone plays a vital role in the body, maintaining energy, muscle mass, bone density, sexual function, and overall well-being.
TRT works by supplementing the body with carefully manufactured forms of testosterone, bringing hormone levels back into a healthy range and alleviating symptoms linked to low testosterone.
Causes of Low Testosterone
Low testosterone, or Low T, can result from a range of medical and lifestyle factors. It often develops when one or more hormone-regulating organs are not functioning properly. This can include the:
- Testicles, where testosterone is primarily produced
- Pituitary gland, which signals the testicles to produce testosterone
- Hypothalamus, which controls hormone release in the body
While testosterone naturally declines with age, several factors can accelerate or worsen this decrease.
- Medical Conditions: Obesity, type 2 diabetes, chronic illness, genetic disorders (e.g., Klinefelter syndrome), infections, or damage from chemotherapy or radiation therapy can all result in falling levels of testosterone.
- Medications: High doses or long-term use of certain drugs, such as corticosteroids and opioids, may suppress testosterone production.
- Lifestyle Factors: Poor sleep, excessive alcohol use, prolonged stress, and lack of physical activity can contribute to low levels of testosterone.
When TRT is Considered
The FDA currently approves TRT for men with clinically diagnosed hypogonadism due to an underlying medical condition. It does not approve TRT for age-related hypogonadism.
TRT may be recommended for men who:
- Have low testosterone confirmed by blood tests.
- Experience symptoms such as fatigue, low libido, muscle loss, or mood changes.
- Have a diagnosable condition affecting testosterone production.
However, TRT is not appropriate for everyone. Men with certain medical conditions, such as prostate cancer or severe heart failure, may not be good candidates for TRT.
Our TRT Process
At EveresT Men’s Health, we take a detailed and personalized approach to TRT. Every step is designed to ensure safety, accuracy, and optimal results, helping you feel your best in your care.
Step 1: Comprehensive Evaluation
Your journey begins with a full assessment to confirm whether TRT is right for you. This includes:
- Hormone Testing: We check Total Testosterone and Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) to calculate Free Testosterone levels. This is the form of testosterone the body can actively use. Results are typically available within 24-48 hours, allowing us to move quickly toward a plan of action.
- Body Composition Screening: Using the advanced InBody 570 system, we measure lean muscle mass, body fat percentage, and body water levels. This provides a clear baseline for tracking your progress over time.
- Medical Evaluation & Clinical Education: Our provider reviews your medical history and symptoms in detail. During this visit, we’ll explain:
- How testosterone is naturally produced in the body
- Common causes of low testosterone
- How TRT works and how we approach treatment safely
- Role of ongoing blood monitoring to ensure optimal dosing and safety
- Comprehensive safety panel to confirm that TRT is appropriate for you
- Confirming Diagnostic Criteria: To ensure accuracy, we may request a second morning blood draw to confirm that low testosterone levels are consistent and meet established diagnostic guidelines.
Testosterone Test
Our testosterone test at just $50 provides a thorough evaluation of your hormone health. It includes blood testing for Total Testosterone and Calculated Free Testosterone, an InBody body composition assessment with a review of the results, and a consultation with our licensed men’s health clinician. During the visit, you’ll also receive information about TRT and how it may be right for you. Please fill out our online form to schedule your testosterone test.
Step 2: Personalized Treatment Plan
Once your evaluation is complete, we design a TRT plan tailored specifically to your needs, lifestyle, and health goals. Your treatment will be based on your lab results, body composition analysis, and symptoms.
Our TRT membership also includes concierge medicine services, ensuring you receive holistic care beyond hormone balancing, addressing nutrition, lifestyle, preventive care, and overall wellness.
Step 3: Safe & Effective Administration
TRT can be administered in several forms, and we help you choose the one that best fits your routine and comfort level.
- Testosterone Skin Gel: Apply the skin gel to clean, dry areas, such as your shoulders, upper arms, or thighs, following the instructions provided with your medication. Allow the gel to fully dry before getting dressed. Take care to avoid skin-to-skin contact with others while the gel is still wet, to avoid unwanted transfer.
- Testosterone Shots: Our provider may administer testosterone as an intramuscular injection or teach you how to safely take the shot at home. You’ll learn which sites on your body are appropriate for injections and how to cycle through them to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Testosterone Patches: This is a skin patch applied to the arm, upper body, or another area where it won’t be exposed to sweat or pressure. Apply the patch once daily and change to a different site each time to avoid skin irritation.
- Testosterone Buccal (Mouth) Patch: This patch looks like a small pill but sticks to your upper gums. Apply it just to the left or right of your front teeth and press gently to secure it. The patch delivers a steady dose of testosterone into your bloodstream through your oral tissue.
Our provider will review each option in detail and recommend the most appropriate method for you based on your needs and lifestyle.
Step 4: Ongoing Support & Monitoring
At EveresT Men’s Health, we follow strict medical protocols to ensure that TRT is both effective and safe for every patient. Our process is guided by evidence-based practices and continuous monitoring to minimize risks and deliver the best possible results.
Our team monitors your progress regularly through scheduled check-ins and lab testing to ensure your hormone levels remain within an optimal range. We make adjustments to the treatment plan as needed and track your energy, mood, sleep, and overall well-being.
