SKIN ABNORMALITIES AND BIOPSIES

The skin is the largest organ of the body, so it only makes sense that you may need to address skin issues occasionally. Common skin abnormalities include moles, warts, and skin tags. If you have noticed a new or changing skin anomaly, it’s a good idea to have it examined.

Some skin abnormalities like skin tags are simply annoyances or purely cosmetic issues which can be easily addressed with an in-office procedure.

Could it be Skin Cancer?

While most moles are harmless, if a mole begins to change in size, shape, or color, it can have the potential to become cancerous. If you notice that a mole is asymmetrical, has uneven or blurred borders, or has multiple colors, make an appointment to have it examined. The medical providers at EveresT Men’s Health will complete a localized skin examination and may take a small sample of tissue to biopsy in order to rule out skin cancer. This a simple in office procedure that can be completed quickly and with minimal discomfort.

The tissue sample will be sent to an outside laboratory for testing and pathology. We typically have the results back within 3-5 days. Based on the results, your medical provider will provide appropriate guidance for referral or additional treatment if needed.
